Homemade Oatmilk

After my last eczema flare up, i have given up on dairies and really take it very very moderate. I usually still have a little bit dairy from bread or cakes. But for drinking, i have switched it to plant or nut milk like Oatmilk and Almond Milk.

What i love from making oatmilk, is that it’s so easy to make and how fast it is to make it ready to drink.

Oats. I prefer to use old fashioned rolled oat, gluten free from Bob’s Red Mill. While Instant and quick cook oat usually thinner and make it easier to become slimy when we blend them. We’ll use raw oat here, so no soaking the oat. Raw oat is nutritious and safe to eat.

Sweetener. Some natura sweeteners we can use are pure organic maple syrup, dates fruit, or honey. I use organic maple syrup here.

Vanilla Extract. Oatmilk will have an oat smell. So to make it more enjoyable, i love to put some vanilla extract to it.

  • 1 cup raw Bob’s Red Mill Old Fashioned Rolled Oat
  • 4 cup water
  • 2 tbs organic maple syrup
  • 1 tbs vanilla extract
  • Filter cloth

There are only 2 steps for this, put everything in a blender and blend them for 30-45 seconds. Make sure to not blend them too long, as the oats will get slimy when the blender is heated. And filter it with a filter cloth.

Store the oatmilk in the fridge for 2-3 days.
